Daihatsu Hijet S200P/S210P — Full Measurements

Data verification status: Cross-checked against JDM-aligned sources; some figures flagged below pending final manufacturer confirmation — last reviewed 2026-06-23.

Every figure on this page is checked against the kei regulatory caps (3,400 mm length / 1,480 mm width / 350 kg payload) before publishing — export-market variants of this name routinely exceed those caps and are not the truck you're importing. Where two reputable sources disagreed, or only one source could be found, that's flagged in the note rather than presented as settled.

Exterior

Spec Metric Imperial
Overall length 3,395 mm 133.7 in
Overall width 1,475 mm 58.1 in
Overall height 1,780 mm 70.1 in
Wheelbase 1,900 mm 74.8 in
Track, front 1,295 mm 51.0 in
Track, rear 1,300 mm 51.2 in
Ground clearance 160 mm 6.3 in
Minimum turning radius 3.7 m 12 ft 1.7 in
Approach angle Not yet confirmed
  • Overall height: Standard cab: 1,780 mm, confirmed from both the Daihatsu official spec PDF and Spectank JP. Jumbo cab (high-roof, extended cabin): 1,905 mm, confirmed from the Daihatsu PDF. Do not use a single height figure without specifying cab type.
  • Minimum turning radius: Manufacturer-stated minimum turning radius, per the Daihatsu official spec PDF. Slightly lower ground clearance (160mm) than the Honda Acty HA6/HA7's 185mm — worth noting for rough-terrain use.

Cargo bed

Spec Metric Imperial
Bed length 1,940 mm 76.4 in
Bed width 1,410 mm 55.5 in
Bed height (side rail) 285 mm 11.2 in
Bed floor height (from ground) 655 mm 25.8 in
  • Bed length: Standard cab figure, confirmed from the Daihatsu official spec PDF. Some 2004+ facelift grades show 1,945mm — a 5mm increase; verify against your specific build date. ⚠️ Jumbo cab bed length: not yet confirmed against a Jumbo-specific spec sheet — the standard cab figure (1,940mm) does not apply to the Jumbo grade. Do not assume a figure for the Jumbo until independently verified.
  • Bed floor height (from ground): Confirmed directly from the Daihatsu official spec sheet dimension diagram (荷台床面地上高655). With no engine tunnel under the bed (front-engine layout), this is meaningfully lower than the Honda Acty's mid-engine bed floor — a real practical difference for loading heavy or low-clearance items.

Weight & capacity

Spec Metric Imperial
Curb weight 720 kg 1,587 lb
Payload (regulatory max) 350 kg 772 lb
  • Curb weight: 720 kg for 2WD 5MT without A/C, 740 kg with A/C (Daihatsu PDF states a +20 kg penalty for A/C-equipped trucks), 770 kg for 4WD 5MT — per the Daihatsu official spec PDF. Check the specific trim and A/C status before citing an exact figure.

Wheels & tyres

Spec Metric Imperial
Stock tyre size 145R12 6PR LT
Bolt pattern (PCD) 4×100mm
  • Stock tyre size: Confirmed via the Daihatsu official spec PDF (145R12-6PRLT). Same spec as the Suzuki Carry and Honda Acty.
  • Bolt pattern (PCD): Confirmed via the Daihatsu official spec PDF. Same bolt pattern as the Carry and Acty.

Fuel

Spec Metric Imperial
Fuel tank capacity 38 L 10.0 gal
  • Fuel tank capacity: Confirmed via the Daihatsu official spec PDF.

Towing

Kei trucks are not designed or rated for braked trailer towing the way a full-size truck is. See our towing use-case guide before assuming this truck can pull a loaded trailer. See our towing use-case guide for the full picture.

Context notes

  • Front-engine layout and bed floor height. The Hijet S200P/S210P uses a front-engine layout, unlike the Honda Acty's mid-engine setup. The practical difference: the Hijet's bed floor sits 655mm off the ground — with no engine tunnel raising the floor, loading heavy or flat items is more straightforward. If you're comparing the Hijet and Acty for work use, bed floor height is one of the more meaningful practical differences between them. See the Honda Acty HA6/HA7 measurements page for a direct comparison.
  • Jumbo cab variant. The Jumbo grade features a high-roof extended cab (overall height 1,905mm vs standard 1,780mm) with reclining seats. The trade-off is a shorter cargo bed. If cargo length is the priority, stick to standard cab grades (Special, Extra). The Jumbo suits buyers who want more cab comfort on longer working days and are carrying shorter loads.
  • Rust treatment. The S200P/S210P was the first kei truck to offer a long-term rust warranty: 85% of the body uses galvanised anti-rust steel with cathodic electrodeposition coating, backed by a 5-year perforation warranty and 3-year surface rust warranty at launch. This makes these trucks hold up better than earlier Hijet generations, but any compromised paint or underbody damage still accelerates rust — see the Problems Database rust inspection guide before buying.
  • For comparison, the Subaru Sambar TT1/TT2 uses 4-wheel independent suspension and a rear-engine layout — see the Sambar measurements page.
